If you’ve got an aspiring game developer, sign them up for our five-day library camp program on making video games. The camp runs for 2 hours a day, for 5 days. Each day, students will learn about a different aspect of video game development (drawing sprites, calculating scores, adding physics, etc). Using a Raspberry Pi computer, they’ll use the coding program, Scratch to make their own video game. Students will work on their own game each day, using their new skills to add to their game. By the end of the course, students will have a finished video game that they can play and upload to the Scratch website for others to play. Attendees to all 5 classes will also receive a special 3D printed prize (Registering for this event will register you for all 5 days). No coding experience needed!

What will be provided?

  • Raspberry Pi to use during classes
  • Instructions and tips
  • Copies of all the games made that day
  • A flash drive to save your game
  • A 3d printed prize for perfect attendance!

What you should bring:

  • Your imagination
  • Laptop or mobile device–anything you can use to access the internet
  • Your own Raspberry Pi, if you have one (not required)
