The library is offering bi-weekly Friday meetup events for homeschool children to get together and participate in STEAM-related enrichment activities. Every two weeks, we’ll give a brief presentation on subjects like 3D printing, coding, robotics, electronics, book discussions, crafts, and more.
This Friday’s event will be:
Zen Coloring Hour – Are your homeschoolers feeling stressed or overworked? Do they need to find some time to be creative and focused? The simple act of coloring has been shown to be calming and therapeutic for kids, especially if they have no other outlet for unpleasant or confusing emotions. Even kids who fall into the “normal” range of emotional health can benefit from processing their feelings, frustrations and emotions though the simple but profound act of coloring. At this event, we’ll provide multiple coloring pages from modern coloring books, like the Harry Potter coloring book. We’ll also provide crayons and markers to use, as well as some relaxing music. Attendees can take home any pages they color to hang up on the refrigerator.
All ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
