In celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s 1969 moon landing, four-time space shuttle astronaut, Dr. Don Thomas, will visit to speak about his career and travels in space. He is a veteran of Shuttle Flights STS-65 Columbia, STS-70 Discovery, STS-83 Columbia, and STS-94 Columbia.

He was selected as a mission specialist astronaut in NASA’s 13th group of astronauts in 1990. He has spent 44 days in space completing nearly 700 orbits of the Earth and traveling 17.6 million miles in the process. Today he is the director of the Hackerman Academy of Mathematics and Science at Towson University working to encourage and inspire young students to follow in his footsteps to become our next generation of scientists, engineers, astronauts, and explorers.

This is an all ages event located in the Lebanon Conference and Banquet Center. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
