Each month, the library is offering a special event for girls to learn computer programming and coding. In each class, we’ll focus on a different type of coding skill, whether it be designing video games like Terraria or Minecraft, making animations like My Little Pony, or controlling mini-robots made from Legos. All skill levels are welcome, especially beginners.

In this class, we’ll be using Legos to build a customized animal robot with a team member. Once they’re finished, we’ll learn how to program them to move around on their own and even respond to the environment around them.

We’ll be using the Lego Mindstorms app for this class, so attendees may bring their laptop to use for the class if they would like. The program is free to download and can be found here: https://www.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/downloads/download-software
