In this four-day camp, students will learn about stop-motion animation and camera techniques. The library will provide a camera and some Legos for participants to use in their own stop-motion productions. Each day, the campers will work together as a team to produce a different stop motion short film, each performing various roles in the production. Attendees will learn about the various roles fulfilled by a film crew, and how each one fits together to make a film. All videos will be uploaded to social media and sent out in an email to share with friends and family.

Ages 7-14

Please note that this is a four-day camp, lasting until May 31st. Be sure your child can attend for all five days before signing up.

The AM and PM Stop Motion Video Camps are the same, so please only sign up for one.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own smartphone or tablet and download the app, Stop Motion Studio, to use during the class.

Participants may also bring some Lego minifigures and/or small pre-assembled sets to be used in their films. Any Legos brought to the class are the sole responsibility of the participant. The Library is not responsible for any Lego pieces that are lost or misplaced. We will also be experimenting with clay and action figures in our films, so attendees are encouraged to think of new ideas and materials they’d like to try out in their films.
