We are looking for committed and passionate teens entering grades 7-12 in fall 2021 to join Lebanon Public Library’s Teen Advisory Group! Since fall 2018, our group has met to discuss current teen issues, develop and host teen programs and events, volunteer to help with programs for families and children, and recruit volunteers for community service events. This year, our group has been working hard to plan virtual programming. Whether we will be planning for virtual or in-person programs this fall, joining this group will give you the opportunity to advocate for the needs of the teen community in order to ensure that the resources and programs that the Library provides are relevant and serve these needs.
Currently, our group meets online using Zoom. Group members will be expected to attend meetings on the first and third Thursday of every month from 6:00-7:00 pm. Consistent attendance is essential to building a strong group and developing successful programs. There are a variety of responsibilities for the group, and each individual member will be able to contribute in his or her own unique way.
Applications are available here. The deadline to turn in these applications is Tuesday, June 1st. Members will be chosen based on application responses and availability, and will receive a letter of acceptance via email in mid-June. There will be one informal orientation for members to attend in August, either virtually or in person depending on COVID guidelines. The first official meeting will be on September 2nd. If you have any questions, please contact the Juvenile Services Coordinator Racheal Schlein.
